What is Parent Coaching?

An ever growing body of research shows that your brainwaves can be trained for optimal flow and function, clearing, balancing, and strengthening the mind and body to make them as harmoniously working as possible... with the resources you already have.  The same principle applies to my coaching approach!

A Parent Coachis a professionally trained and certified individual who establishes a collaborative relationship with a parent (or both parents) providing customized support by identifying the parent's values, goals and strengths and cultivating action towards the client's parenting vision.  A Parent Coach also aims to further empower parents by facilitating the development and implementation of new strengths, enhanced self-awareness and self-care.

Parent Coaching is typically a short-term option that parents have in order to obtain support, validation and caring guidance through transitions, challenges or even everyday parenting issues.  Parent Coaching is not a clinical intervention, therapy or counseling, but does rely on empowering parents to feel more confident in their role and therefore accountable for their own joy.

As a Parent Coach I aim to co-create a flexible structure for discovering,  designing and implementing goals for you and your family, with the resources you already have at hand and the capacity to build upon those.  As a coach, my goal is to establish a level of communication that will support you through the uncovering of more of your own answers and strengths through appreciative inquiry and amplifying positive feedback.  I listen, affirm and nurture you, providing you with relevant information to catalyze positive changes for your entire family.

You may choose to have your parent coaching sessions in person, over the phone or skype.  The minimum number of sessions is 12, to occur within 3 to 4 months, once weekly or bi-weekly.  Returning parents may choose a lesser number of sessions.
